I keep pretending I’m leaving
To try and remember why I came
So many accusations
For so little blame
I’d ask you for your keys
But I feel out of breath
I’d probably just loose them
So it’s all for the best
And time will surely find you
A stranger to your nest
It pays to travel light
While running far from this
While running far from this
While running far from this
Will I become a phantom
An orphan to this mess
My past a strip of lightning
Aiming for your chest
And time will surely find you
A stranger to your nest
It pays to travel light
While running far from this
While running far from this
While running far from this
The Nerve – Wandsworth USA (from the TV series Spirited)
Saturday Morning I’m lying in bed
With the radio on and this is what it said:
“They’re gonna stick a warhead
Down in Wandsworth Common”
We all say, “Fine…
C’mon! Well, c’mon then!”
I see the rats rise up
Through the cracks in the city
They never tell it like it really is on the BBC
We’re all down in the bull pen now but we ain’t got nuthin to say
I’m livin’ in the USA
In Wandsworth USA
We’re all down in the bull pen now but we ain’t got nuthin to say
Im livin in the USA
in Wandsworth USA
Ah huh
When they say, “jump” do we say, “how high”?
When they say, “jump” do we say, “how high”?
I can’t sit still with this blindfold on
While the pigs fly by going one by one
From the squats to the gutters
And to the tenement flats
We all pull down the shutters and make them wait for the rats
We see them rise up through the cracks of the city
They never tell it like it really is on the BBC, BBC
We’re all down in the bull pen now but we ain’t got nuthin to say
I’m livin’ in the USA
In Wandsworth USA
We’re all down in the bull pen now but we ain’t got nuthin to say
I’m livin’ in the USA
In Wandsworth USA
We’re livin in the USA
In Wandsworth USA
